As you might have discovered, as well as I did, during my trip the personal encounters are the main theme.
Ignoring the North Cape
Oh yeah! As I planned to cycle north, actually to Tromsø, It would be logical to pinpoint the North Cape. Because this is what has to be done.

Day 61 – 4778 km
It is often said that the day starts de night before. In this case it couldn’t be closer to the truth. It was a terrible night, the rain kept drumming on my tent the whole time and the wind was severely pushing and ripping on the outside of my tiny shelter. As the sun doesn’t leave, the continuous daylight wouldn’t help my sleeping rythme either.

The middle of Sweden
More then one month under way, the reality starts shifting to this kind of life. 10 days living only outdoors with temperatures at night around freezing and during the day around 5°C. I had prepared well enough, so I didn’t feel cold. But the constant wind on a bicycle started wearing me down. I was more and more hungry. My power seemed do degrade and my mood saw some dips.

Straffe mannen die vreemden.
Thuis, in een klein dorpje ergens aan de Vlaamse kust, je moet al moeite doen om een kaart te vinden waar het op staat, zijn meer vreemden dan gekenden. Als je na 2300 km fietsen en doorkruisen van 4 landen, nog verwacht gekenden tegen te komen, dan zal er een hele zak geluk voor nodig zijn.

Mijn drinkwater is bijna op. Dus ik besluit om de eerstvolgende levende zielen die ik tegenkom te vragen naar drinkwater.

Brief aan het thuisfront (15 april 2019)
Heyhey,Eergisteren ben ik Denemarken binnen gereden. Er werden mij de shelters aangeraden ( http://udinaturen.dk/facilitet/Brdr–Jepsen-I-S/15045 ) gratis plekken voor fietsers en trekkers. Met de auto of camper kun je er vaak niet geraken.Voor de eerste keer op mijn reis had ik geen slaapplek gevonden, dus dat kwam verrassend goed uit.
